A warm pencil sketch of a sunny playroom with a green solarpunk city outside the window. Only Tara, Theo and Trick-E are in colour: Tara holds out a yellow toy block, Theo plays with a wooden train, and Trick-E, the red and blue robot truck in a cowboy hat, watches them with a big smile. A plush elephant and a little Cozmo robot sit by the shelves.

The future is EPIC. We are building ROBOTS and STORIES to shepherd us into that future.

Meet Trick-E

Our first robot, and the hero of our first adventure

The kids and youth of today will inherit a fascinating new world, full of excitement, joy and glory! Trick-E is our first step towards bringing that world home.

Trick-E is a curious little creature. He helps with the chores, and the toys find their way home. He is also a bridge for kids into a solarpunk future, where humans and machines live in harmony with nature.

More about Trick-E

The stories

Theo, Tara and Trick-E

Theo is eight and his little sister Tara is three. Trick-E tells their adventures his way: often confused, always sure he's right.

In the first one he goes to school for toy day, packs spare batteries in case school is in Antarctica, and helps catch a thief. Sort of.

Watch it, read it, or listen at bedtime, in eight languages: English, German, Polish, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean.

Where we're headed

Solar sails, sky gardens and strawberries on the moon

We can't wait to take Theo, Tara and Trick-E sailing through space, with a stop on the moon to pick strawberries! This is the world our kids get to grow up in, and we're going to tell them about it one adventure at a time.

Theo and Tara in astronaut suits and Trick-E in a bubble helmet on the deck of a solar-sail ship, pointing at a ringed planet.
Theo, Tara and Trick-E pick strawberries in a glass greenhouse on the moon, with Earth glowing in the starry sky.
Theo steers an airship at a big wooden wheel above sunset clouds, while Tara looks through a brass telescope at floating garden islands and Trick-E holds up a yellow pennant.
Inside a glass dome under the sea, Theo and Tara wave at a turtle and glowing fish while Trick-E reaches up beside them.

For developers

Build with Trick-E

Every car looks the same. Every phone looks the same. We don't want every robot to look the same. Trick-E is yours to shape: how he looks, how he sounds, what he does. Make him your family's own robot friend.

Personal robots are still the Wild West, full of questions nobody has answered yet. So we're building cowboy robots to answer ours.

We want our robot to be aligned with our kids and our families. We're heavily inspired by Baymax and Robot & Frank, and we want the robot to act in the interest of our kids, not of the company that made it.

There are still a lot of unsolved problems, and open-sourcing some of the hard questions is the best way to solve them.
