A friend who helps
Most robots look like they came out of a factory. We wanted one that kids warm to straight away, one that belongs in the playroom and really helps around the house.
Trick-E helps put the toys away. When he puts one in the wrong place, the kids show him where it goes, and next time he gets it right.

Who he is
In our stories, Trick-E lives with Theo and his little sister Tara. He gets excited about things he doesn't quite understand, and he is fairly sure a berry smoothie would charge his batteries.
He tells his adventures in long, happy, breathless sentences. Then he wakes Theo up: "Theo. Rise. And. Shine."

The future he comes from
Our kids will grow up with robots the way we grew up with computers. We want their first one to be a friend they trust.
We imagine a solarpunk future, where humans and machines live in harmony with nature and children can't wait to see what comes next. Trick-E brings a small piece of that future into the playroom today.

For developers
Build with Trick-E
Every car looks the same. Every phone looks the same. We don't want every robot to look the same. Trick-E is yours to shape: how he looks, how he sounds, what he does. Make him your family's own robot friend.
Personal robots are still the Wild West, full of questions nobody has answered yet. So we're building cowboy robots to answer ours.
We want our robot to be aligned with our kids and our families. We're heavily inspired by Baymax and Robot & Frank, and we want the robot to act in the interest of our kids, not of the company that made it.
There are still a lot of unsolved problems, and open-sourcing some of the hard questions is the best way to solve them.
